Communities In Schools of Chicago (CISC) partners
with more than 125 hospitals, universities, theaters, community-based
nonprofits, government agencies, museums, corporations and indiviudals
and helps them facilitate their programs and services within schools.
We connect our service provider partners to schools that need the
programs they offer and we help them navigate these schools.
CISC also works with our service providers to ensure their
programs are high-quality and tailored to the specific needs
of Chicago public school students. We have developed a set
of criteria for successful school-based program delivery
that include expectations around:
- Content and curriculum
- Quality of presentation
- Internal evaluation of programs
- Partnership building with schools and other service providers
- Coordnation and integration beyond the classroom
- Cultivating and acknowledging community partners
CISC offers evaluation, networking and training opportunities
to our service provider partners that focus on these criteria
so that agencies can become experts at shaping, managing
and customizing their programs to address student priorities
and better serve Chicago’s children.
