Communities In Schools, National - The national Communities In Schools organization champions the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. Chicago Communities in Schools is an affiliate of national CIS.


Catalyst - Independent newsmagazine created in 1990 to document, analyze and support school-improvement and reform efforts in the Chicago Public Schools.

The Chicago Academy of Sciences - Runs workshops for Chicago educators. Willing to send instructors to local schools to run personal workshops upon request.

The Chicago Interactive Math Program - Trains and supports teachers in using a four-year high school math curriculum developed at the University of Illinois at Chicago, emphasizing problem-solving and teamwork. Together, students tackle problems that usually are too challenging to be solved by any one individual - for example, maximizing profits from a small business or making public-policy decisions about land-use. The program is currently being used by 27 local high schools.
